Student Testimonials

I can't tell you how much your teaching skill and patient encouragement impressed me in your Beginner class. Your enthusiasm for the sport, and for teaching it, were evident from the start. --John

You're an excellent teacher - patient and able to break things down so that we newbies can understand the concepts. You should feel proud of yourself for getting a bunch of people who were too scared to stand up in skates able to turn, stop, and manage grades! I was so jazzed after class I went to a business park lot and practiced some more! By the way, I fractured my elbow the first time I put my skates on, and now I have the confidence NOT to do that again! --Jackie

Really enjoyed the class today! Learned a lot -- know what to practise now. Definitely would recommend this class to anyone we know who is learning to skate. You are a good, fun teacher! --Irene

First of all, I wanted to thank you once again for agreeing to meet with Sandra and I on such short notice... We both found you to be an absolute delight and an excellent mentor as to where we want to be (both physically and psychologically) in years to come. You have impressed me in many ways since getting to know you a little better (thanks to your website - which I've been surfing for the last several days - great job, Dan)! --Wendi

How do you rate Liz as a
Zephyr Skate Camp Instructor?

"Fantastic in all respects. I feel very fortunate to have had her as an
instructor. She is extremely patient, encouraging, and safety conscious. I felt very safe with her."

"She is good at finding different ways to explain things and works to find the minor variations in technique that will work best for each individual."

"Quite encouraging and took the time to help each individual with their specific need."

"Very easygoing and FRIENDLY." Motivated to help other learn without being competitive or preference to certain skaters."

"Liz is a great instructor with a lot of patience. It was helpful to identify our individual mistakes and correcting us right away. Like when I was cruising on the trail, I was moving my shoulders because I thought it was the right way to do it. Liz came along and corrected me. I was so grateful to her for letting me know."

"Liz really helped me with the word 'transfer' as in weight."

"Very friendly, warm and encouraging, open and honest. Her fitness level is inspiring and knowing that she didn't begin to skate until she was 40 was so cool. Gives me hope! Great whistler, too. I felt I could contact her for any skating help or info at any time and she'd respond positively."

Liz showed genuine concern that each one of us learn techniques the right way and always safely. It was an honor to be a student of hers.

Liz's patience with all of us, especially the few who continued to struggle was wonderful. She was very supportive and you could tell she really cared and wanted all to feel that they had succeeded.

Her patience, technical skills and emphasis on safety are terrific, and she explains things very well.

A very great privilege to have been associated with her.
